Midthunder originates from the Fort Peck Assiniboine tribe. Her entire childhood within Santa Fe where her mother worked at a casting company and she attended at the Academy for Technology and the Classics. Amber is Native American on her father's side. Both are registered members of the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe. Amber's mother had been adoptive. Amber has unknown her mixed family heritage. Prey features a large number of Native American actors, such as Dakota Beavers (who is Blackfeet and Comanche) and Jhane Meiers who has been helping the production for years. Coco the cute animal actress that plays Sarii was chosen because of her unique species of American Dingo. It is one the oldest breeds of dogs, it is also known by the other title, Carolina Dog.
Another message is also present in all this; throughout the film TJ narrates his love for Amanda and how she's everything to him (although some of the narration could be actually about the daughter, if we look at the story further). The actor confessed to Amanda about his feelings but she refused to tell him because she was already dating Daniel. Later, Jack married Amanda and following her demise, Emily came out as her true persona. Since then, they are best of friends. After the series, they'll marry. Amanda is able to kiss Wilf just before midnight. Single-handedly wins the prize pot.
